My Brow Tint and Lash Extension Experience

Hello lovelies,
This blog post is something a little different for me but it is something that I have been really excited to publish since I have had the procedure done, and it is all about my brow thread and tint and my lash extension experience.

*Disclaimer- This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.*

I have known ever since my holiday to the Dominican Republic last year that I wanted to get my brows tinted and have lash extensions put on. A few of the girls there had them done and it made them look so effortlessly glamorous. After booking my holiday to Tenerife I knew that I wanted to find a decent salon with good reviews to get the procedures I wanted done.

After a lot of research, I came across a girl in Swindon who is actually the year below me but runs her own business called 'BeautyByP' and is fully qualified in a range of beauty procedures, including brow threading and tinting, and lash extensions. As well as this, she had numerous good reviews from a lot of people, including some girls that I know and she was reasonably priced, so I decided to look into booking with her. She was incredibly helpful and replied to my Facebook messages straight away, answering all my questions and told me that I'd need a patch test a few days before I wanted the procedures to make sure I wasn't allergic to any of the products used. She also informed me that the lash extensions cannot get wet for the first 48 hours, and helped me decide which was the best day to book in before my holiday.

On Tuesday the 29th of August I went to the 'BeautyByP' salon and had my patch test. The test took minutes and Paige said that if I had any problems, itching or redness to contact her straight away, no matter how small. After I had been home a while, the patch where she had put the lash glue started to itch a bit and go a bit red, so following her instructions, I messaged her straight away. She responded quickly telling me not to worry and that a bit of redness was common, and because the glue wasn't actually going to make contact with my skin, I should be fine. By this point, the itching and redness had disappeared anyway.

On Saturday the 2nd of September I went back in to 'BeautyByP' for my appointment. Paige was lovely and welcoming, explained the procedure before getting me to sign a form writing down my allergies and confirming that I understood the procedure. I then led down on the bed and relaxed as she tinted and threaded my eyebrows, and got started on my lashes.

Before the treatments

The procedures took just over an hour in total, which was less time than I was expecting. The results were gorgeous and I was so happy with how everything turned out.

After the treatments

Paige informed me that the lash extensions should last about 3 weeks, but told me that every lash has a different growth cycle and so some could fall out before others. She also gave me a list of things to remember in order to make the lashes last longer, including: don't wear mascara, don't get them wet for 48 hours, and don't pick at them. I have tried to follow these instructions to the best of my ability.
I've had the lashes on for nearly 2 weeks now, and while a few have fallen out, I still think they look quite good. I was expecting some to fall out whilst I was on holiday due to the chlorine of the pool, the salt water of the sea, and also because I was going to a water park and I went on a banana boat so I expect the force of the water hitting my face knocked a few loose too.

The extensions now, 13 days later

In my opinion, they have lasted pretty well, and I hope they will last a little longer.

All in all, I love the way the tint and lashes made me look. I feel so much more confident about going out barefaced now (hence the no makeup selfie above) which is exactly what I needed before going away for a week in the sun as I didn't want to have to wear brow product and mascara around the pool in case the products got sweated off or washed off and I ended up looking like a panda/raccoon.
If you are considering getting a brow tint and lash extensions for a special occasion, holiday, or just to simply slay even more without makeup, I definitely recommend them! I felt like a sass queen all week and all I had to do was brush the brows and lashes through each morning with a clean mascara want to untangle them which is so much less effort than having to apply makeup. The one thing I will say though is definitely make sure you have done your research and have found a decent salon with good reviews before booking, to avoid the lash extension disaster stories you hear about every so often.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post as it is something a little bit different for me but I really enjoyed writing it.

With love, Chloe x

  1. Love this post! I've always wanted to get lash extensions but have never got round to it... I should've really got them done before freshers so I don't have to wear falsies every night for two weeks but I've left it a bit late now... Definitely agree with you about researching into a proper salon before having it done though! You look amazing... Great post xx
